That’s sounds like a standard TV advertisement. But in this case you get what the slogan promises. In the new Release 12 we have added 3 very important and useful administrative functions that till now are only available in the Developer Studio. These functions can be used very comfortably via “iET Workcenter” and “iET Web client” with the same functionality as in the Developer Studio. We have extended the “System Administration” by the following functions:

  • Application Management
  • Notification Management
  • Scheduled Task Group Management


System Administration
 
Application Management:

With the “Application Management” users can create, remove and modify the single applications of the navigation pane in the “iET Workcenter” or “iET Web client”. On the tab “Items” it is possible to reorganize the whole application structure. The user can create, remove and rename items. With the arrow up and arrow down buttons the user can move any item to the desired position.

For customization the group access rights of an application we added the tab “Permissions”. On the tab are two lists. In the left one are the groups that don’t have the access right. The list on the right contains the groups that obtained the access right for this application.

Notification Management:

Now it is possible to customize the content of the predefined notifications in the system. These notifications are used to build for example system generated email notifications for users.

Scheduled Task Group Management:

Scheduled task groups are tasks that will be executed automatically by the system. The user can enable or disable predefined task groups.

By double clicking on a single task the user can customize the parameters. He can change the start time, end time, the interval minutes (interval time for repeating task) and the execution days.

I know that these are functions that many customers and also developers will appreciate. There is no more assistance required from a developer to rename application items or change notification messages! More functionality for users = less work for developers ;)
