ITIL V3: Managing Across the Lifecycle Course

This course focuses on business, management and supervisory objectives, purpose, processes, functions and activities and on the interfaces and interactions between the processes addressed in the ITIL V3 books. 

The ITIL V3 course allows participants to deepen and broaden their knowledge of the issues, competencies and techniques for an integrated approach to IT Service Management and the Service Lifecycle. The following are the topics addressed in this course:

  • Introduction to IT Service Management Business & Managerial Issues
  • Managing the Planning and Implementation of IT Service Management
  • Management of Strategic Change
  • Risk Management
  • Managerial Functions
  • Understanding Organizational Challenges
  • Lifecycle Project Assessment
  • Understanding Complementary Industry Guidance

Delivery Details

The session utilizes a learning approach that employs formal instruction, group and individual exercises and review activities to deepen and broaden participants’ comprehension of the material.  The course is typically delivered over a 5 day period with the fifth day focused on review, exam preparation and the administering of the examination.

Prerequisite - In order to attend the course, participants in the Managing Across the Lifecycle course must:

  • Hold either the ITIL V3 Foundation Certificate or the ITIL V2 Foundation plus the ITIL V3 Foundation Bridge Certificate
  • Hold at least 15 addition credits from ITIL V3 “Intermediate” Lifecycle and/or Capability stream courses in an approved, balanced program of study.

Note: There are other acceptable admittance paths for a learner with qualifications from previous versions of ITIL, but all require a minimum of 17 total credits from other sources.
