Product Update

An Update from Tim Jarrett, Director of Product Management

Greetings. As we enter the end of the year and a festive time for most of us, I thought I’d write a few words about some gifts from iET Solutions that are coming to you. Yes, it’s software release time!

As we announced back in the first quarter newsletter, iET Enterprise 10.1 is a significant step forward in the user experience for your iET Solutions applications. I’m pleased to announce that iET Enterprise 10.1 was released for download on Friday, December 14. The release includes some significant changes and improvements to both the server and client-side components, including an XML Web Services communications layer, global search, a web-based navigation metaphor, grouping in queries, improved attachment handling, non-modal forms when opened from datagrids, a spell-checker, streamlined modern UI, click-once deployment and update, and more.

The release, though it is designed for backwards compatibility, has some big changes and we strongly recommend that you test the release before deploying it in a production environment. Look for an announcement soon about upcoming webcasts about the new features in iET Enterprise 10.1 and about deploying the release.

Additionally, we released two other updates in the last month. iET Enterprise 10.0.2, a patch to Enterprise 10.0, fixes issues with the VIP, a small memory issue in the Entserver, a bug with the @OLD function in datasheets, and more. It’s available for download now from the Partner and Customer Connection web site.

Last, but not least, iET ITSM 4.1.1 is available! This release introduces service portfolio management and statuses for the life cycle of services, which are part of ITIL V3. It also includes some bug fixes as well as a new form for managing services.

We hope that you have a happy holiday and look forward to seeing you all in 2008!

Customer Spotlight - iET Customer to Speak at HDI 2008

Jim Phillips, VP and CIO at Arizona Federal Credit Union, will be presenting a session titled, "Arizona Federal: Putting ITSM to Work" at the 2008 HDI show in Dallas, Texas.

    Session Description:
Experience has taught Arizona Federal that getting the most out of IT means running it like a true service organization. After carefully assessing the credit union’s IT operation, the team decided to focus on improving processes, proactively managing the data center, and implementing end-to-end asset management. They turned to an ITSM solution to meet these needs.
