iET Solutions, a leading global supplier of IT Service Management and Software Asset Management solutions, today announced the successful assessment and certification of iET ITSM, iET Solutions’ IT Service Management (ITSM) solution, for twelve ITIL processes through the founder of ITIL, the Office of Government Commerce (OGC). This certification was awarded by the APM Group Ltd, a leading Accreditation, Certification and Qualification organization recognized internationally by government agencies, and the Official Accreditor of the Office of Government Commerce. iET ITSM was also assessed and certified as PinkVERIFY 3.1 compatible on twelve ITIL processes, making iET Solutions the first ITSM software vendor to achieve this many certifications with both the OGC and PinkVERIFY 3.1.
"With around 80 other ITSM vendors in the market, organizations are continually looking for truthful insight into a vendor’s product and verification that the product can do what they claim. Official global third-party certifications such as the OGC and PinkVERIFY, are a perfect solution. These are independent organizations that spend weeks looking deep into these products and report on whether the product does what the vendor says it does,” said Walter Elliot, President and CEO of iET Solutions. “iET ITSM 5.1 offers twelve ITIL V3-aligned processes which have been verified by both the OGC and PinkVERIFY 3.1, as well as backed by our customers. This is something we are extremely proud of.”
Through the Office of Government Commerce (OGC), the APM Group, a leading Accreditation, Certification and Qualification organization recognized internationally by government agencies, and the Official Accreditor of the Office of Government Commerce, has established an ITIL Software Scheme which allows software tool vendors to obtain endorsement for an ITIL based tool. Endorsement allows tool vendors to hold a valid Trade Mark Licence and use the Process Compliant badge. According to the APM Group, iET ITSM 5.1 meets both the Gold and Silver Process Compliant qualifications for twelve ITIL processes.

About the APM Group
Through the Office of Government Commerce (OGC), the APM Group has established an ITIL Software Scheme which allows software tool vendors to obtain endorsement for an ITIL based tool. Endorsement allows tool vendors to hold a valid Trade Mark License and use the Process Compliant badge. The scheme operates through Licensed Software Assessors whereby software tool vendors apply to have a tool assessed in order to obtain a recommendation.
Licensed Software Assessors are independent assessment bodies, providing recommendations to APM Group on the tools assessed. Tools will be assessed by qualified industry experts who must meet the criteria as set by APM group.
Licensed Software Assessors Assess software tools based on one of three levels, Bronze, Silver or Gold, as well as 100% compliance in ITIL processes that the tool claims to be compliant with. The ITIL Software Scheme offers a logo to everyone OGC awards with endorsement and subsequent Trade Mark license. The logo incorporates the popular swirl image, along with the ITIL Trade Mark with wording to confirm that the product has been appropriately licensed by OGC. The IT Infrastructure Library® (ITIL) is the most widely accepted approach to IT service management in the world. ITIL is a cohesive best practice framework, drawn from the public and private sectors internationally. It describes the organization of IT resources to deliver business value, and documents processes, functions and roles of IT Service Management (ITSM). ITIL is supported by a comprehensive qualifications scheme, accredited training organizations, and implementation and assessment tools. The original version of ITIL was developed at the same time as, and in alignment with BS 15000, the former UK standard for IT Service Management. BS15000 was fast-tracked in 2005 to become ISO/IEC 20000, the first international standard in ITSM. OGC is committed to the maintenance of alignment between future version of ITIL and ISO/IEC 20000. A refreshed version of ITIL was introduced in 2007 (known as version 3).
